The Jay County High School boys tennis team picked up a pair of quick doubles wins Thursday, but couldn’t come up with the other point it needed in a 3-2 loss to the visiting Winchester Golden Falcons.
The doubles teams of Jay Houck and Adam Jutte, and Sok Vormohr and Garrett Rodgers cruised to straight-set victories against Winchester at No. 1 and 2 respectively. But with No. 1 singles player Zach Pryor sidelined because of a sore back, the Patriots suffered a singles sweep against their sectional rivals.
