MUNCIE — Jay County’s girls golf team finished in third place, earning a berth in the regional meet for the first time in more than two decades.
Brooke Sanders had a 93 as the No. 1 score for Jay County, which shot a 399 in Saturday’s sectional tournament at Crestview Golf Club.
Yorktown ran away with the sectional title, shooting a 314. The host Muncie Central Bearcats finished in second with 347.
Sydney Mathias followed Sanders with a 97. Rachel Antrim turned in a 104 and Malarie Houck had a 105.
Maddison Baughn also competed for the Patriots, shooting a 112.
