Mary Christine Wingate, 93, a former Dunkirk resident, died Saturday at Morrison Woods Nursing Home in Muncie.
Born in Portland to Orval and Nellie (Buckles) Secrest, she was a 1939 graduate of Dunkirk High School.
Preceding her in death were her second husband Duane B. Wingate in 2000 and her first husband Glen E. Everhart in 1967.
Retiring in 1984 as a secretary for Jay School Corporation, she was also a secretary at Dunkirk High School and a Red Cross Volunteer in Dunirk.
Memberships include Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, Friends of the Library, 50-year member and past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star Halfway Lodge in Redkey, Dunkirk Elks Lodge No. 1776, American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 227, charter member of Delta Theta Tau- Zeta Chi Chapter in Dunkirk and Retired Indiana Public Employees Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara A. Lehman (husband: Orval), Muncie; Marilyn Shultz (husband: Rich), Hartford City; a stepdaughter, Melanie Davis (husband: Jerry), Dunkirk; a stepson, Mark Wingate (wife: Rhonda), Alpharetta, Ga.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Dunkirk with Pastors Randy Davis and Rusty Clements officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at MJS Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be sent to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church or Morrison Woods Activity Department.
