Robert Rohlfing

Services for Robert “Bob” Earl Rohlfing, 85, Syracuse, were held today at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw. He died Thursday at Sycamore Village in Fort Wayne.
Born in Dunkirk, he was the son of Robert Gephart and Hazel (Garringer) Rohlfing. He married Wanda Agatha Welch in 1950, and she preceded him in death in June 2005.
He was a 1947 graduate of Dunkirk High School and graduated from Purdue University in 1956 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
A veteran of the United States Army, he retired from General Motors in Anderson in 1994.
He was a singer and saxophone player in his own band and a member of American Legion Post No. 253 in North Webster.
Surviving are a son, Robert “Bob” Rohlfing, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Deborah Schmidt (husband: Steve), Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
