GASTON — The Class 1A Wes-Del Warriors battered Jay County with their service game Thursday, handing the visiting team just its fourth loss of the season by a 25-18, 25-11, 25-16 final.
The Patriots (17-4) trailed 20-18 in the opening game before dropping the final five points. They struggled to pass Wes-Del’s serve the rest of the way, falling behind 13-3 in game two and giving up a 7-0 run in game three.
