Laptop stolen
A Portland man reported a theft Thursday.
Jim Ward, 618 S. Vine St., told police his family informed him a Dell laptop from his home is missing. Ward is in the hospital and reported missing items to police Wednesday.
The theft was reported at 1:06 p.m.

Correction
The employees and residents from CrownPointe in the photo on page three of Thursday’s edition of The Commercial Review were incorrectly identified.

Xbox stolen
A Portland woman reported a theft to Jay County Sheriff’s Office Thursday.
Carly Thomas, 1237 N. U.S. 27, Lot 63, told a sheriff’s deputy she noticed her Xbox 360, Acer laptop and $20 in change missing from her trailer Thursday. There was no sign of forced entry.
The theft was reported at 9:52 p.m.

Suicide threat
Jay County EMS transported a suicidal woman to Ball Memorial Hospital Thursday in Muncie.
The woman was located after a Dunkirk man reported her suicide threat to Jay County Sheriff’s Office Thursday.
The woman was allegedly driving through the county threatening to commit suicide.

Adams accident
A Geneva man and a Berne woman were injured in an accident Wednesday in Adams County.
Kent A. Werst, 55, Geneva, and Amada J. Schwartz, 19, Berne, were transported to Adams County Hospital after their vehicles collided in the intersection of Adams County Road 350 South and Adams County Road 000. Werst complained of back pain at the scene, and Schwartz complained of pelvic pain.
According to a police report, Schwartz failed to see Werst’s vehicle traveling on county road 000 when she stopped at the intersection. She proceeded to drive into the intersection, and the vehicles collided.
The force of the impact drove Schwartz’s vehicle into a cornfield, owned by Fred Yoder, Berne.
Damage to the vehicles and cornfield was estimated to be between $5,000 and $10,000.
