Jay Co. draws Eagles

INDIANAPOLIS — In the boys and girls soccer sectional draws held this morning, both Jay County teams drew Delta in the semifinal round.
The Patriot boys (3-8-1) will play in the first semifinal game at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Class 2A Sectional 15.
The host Yorktown Tigers will play Muncie Central in the other semifinal game at 7:30 p.m. The championship game is slated for 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Jay County’s girls squad (5-6) will play the Eagles in the second semifinal of the Class 2A Sectional 15, set for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7.
The first semifinal, which is at 5:30 p.m., pits Muncie Central against Yorktown.
The championship game will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 11. The Patriot girls are defending sectional champions after knocking off the host Tigers 1-0 in 2013.
Both tournaments will be held at the Yorktown Sports Park.
South Adams’ boys team will host the Class 1A Sectional 39 tournament. In the first semifinal, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers will square off against Woodlan at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
The Starfires play Allen County Athletic Conference rival Heritage at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7. The championship game will be at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 8.
The Starfire girls will take on Whitko in the opening round of the Class 1A Sectional 37 at Bishop Luers at 5 p.m. Oct. 6. The winner will play the victor of the 7 p.m. quarterfinal between Blackhawk Christian and Concordia in the first semifinal, which will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 9.
The other quarterfinal games will feature host Bishop Luers against Woodlan at 5 p.m. Oct. 7 and Canterbury versus Heritage at 7 p.m. The winners advance to the second semifinal at 7 p.m. Oct. 9, and the championship game is slated for 2 p.m. Oct. 11.
