Catherine Hemmelgarn

Catherine M. “Cathy” Hemmelgarn, 62, Fort Recovery, died Saturday at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio.
Born in Celina, Ohio, to Edward and Marietta (Arling) Unrast, she married Roger Hemmelgarn on Oct. 12, 1972, in Maria Stein, Ohio. She was a 1970 graduate of Marion Local High School, Maria Stein, and worked at Priority Plastics in Portland.
She was a member of the Altar Rosary Sodality of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, where she was also a former choir member and lay distributor.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons, Ron Hemmelgarn and Randy Hemmelgarn, both of Fort Recovery, Rick Hemmelgarn (wife: Stacy), New Weston, Ohio, and Ryan Hemmelgarn (wife: Tasha), New Madison, Ohio; one daughter, Amanda Bowers (husband: Ron), Rossburg, Ohio; two sisters, Agnes McDonald, Beaverton, Mich., and Doris Henry (husband: Mike), Maria Stein; two brothers, Al Unrast (wife: Carol), Osgood, Ohio, and Dave Unrast (wife: Nancy), Maria Stein; and 12 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Help of Christian Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating.
Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
