Breaking: One injured in Redkey fire
REDKEY — One man was injured in a house fire this morning on Meridian Street.
Mitch Clay, 42, suffered second- and third-degree burns over portions of his body in a fire that apparently started in the garage of his 226 S. Meridian St. (Indiana 1) home. Lutheran Air helicopter was called to Jay County Hospital to transport Clay to another facility.
Neighbors said Clay was in the garage when the fire started, and after getting out he went back into the house to evacuate his two children.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene about 9:30 a.m. today.
