Kegan Comer ranks among the top 40 free-throw shooters in the nation. His accuracy helped the Cougars to a big win.
The 2013 Jay County High School graduate hit all of his foul shots Saturday in the NAIA Division II No. 17 University of St. Francis men’s basketball team’s 93-77 victory over Goshen.
Comer shot 50 percent from the field and went 6-for-6 at the foul line, finishing with 15 points as four Cougars scored in double figures. He also had four assists, four rebounds and a steal.
The junior scored six points Wednesday as USF clobbered Wright State – Lake Campus 96-63.
Comer is shooting 85 percent from the foul line this season, which ties him for 31st in NAIA Division II. He is averaging 14.7 points per game.
The Cougars have won three straight to improve to 8-3.

Fort Recovery – 2012
Was one of six members of the University of Northwestern Ohio men’s basketball team to reach double figures Tuesday in a 93-66 win over Ohio State – Lima.

Pottkotter started and shot 4-of-6 from the field on the way to a 10-point effort for the Racers (6-4). He also had three rebounds, one steal and one assist in 17 minutes.
The senior finished with eight points, eight rebounds and two steals in a 59-55 win Wednesday over Madonna. He totaled six points, one rebound and one steal Saturday as UNOH fell to NAIA Division II No. 3 Davenport.

Fort Recovery – 2013
Was part of a massive rebounding advantage for the Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team Wednesday as it destroyed Great Lakes Christian 100-43.
Gelhaus grabbed nine rebounds as part of the Cardinals’ 59-29 advantage on the glass. He also had eight points, two assists and a block.
He totaled three points, four rebounds and an assist for SVSU (5-2) in a 90-72 win Dec. 3 over Ohio Dominican and had three rebounds, one point, one assist and one steal as it topped Tiffin 87-73 Saturday.

Jay County – 2013
Helped the Indiana Tech men’s basketball team to a 77-63 victory Saturday over Concordia.
Schwieterman shot 3-for-4 from the field for six points for the Warriors (6-4). He also had two blocks and two rebounds.

Kylie Kahlig
Fort Recovery – 2012
Helped the University of Northwestern Ohio women’s basketball team to a 94-86 victory Wednesday over visiting Madonna.
Kahlig scored four points off the bench for the Racers, who improved to 6-4. She also had two rebounds, one assist and one steal.
She had two points, four rebounds and two steals Saturday in a seven-point loss to Davenport, which is ranked eighth in NAIA Division II.

Fort Recovery – 2014
Returned to the starting lineup for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team Saturday in a 75-56 loss to the Northwood Timberwolves.
The sophomore was the lone starter for the Oilers (2-4, 0-2 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) held without a point. He missed all six of his shots, grabbed one rebound and had one turnover.
Kahlig scored nine points in 20 minutes off the bench Dec. 3 in the Oilers’ 77-54 loss to Lake Superior State University. He made half of his six shot attempts and both of his free throws. He also had a pair of rebounds and a steal.

Eric Hemmelgarn
Jay County – 2014
Had one solo tackle and assisted on two others for the University of Saint Francis football team in its 45-14 loss to Marian University.
The NAIA No. 4 Cougars (11-1) gave up 24 points in the second quarter in dropping the rematch with the No. 6 Knights with a berth in the NAIA Football Championship Series title game on the line.
The redshirt freshman played in all 12 games for the Cougars, registering 31 tackles, 9 1/2 tackles for loss and a half sack.

Jay County – 2015
Wasn’t able to hit the scoresheet Sunday for the Brescia University women’s basketball team in its 64-57 victory against Indiana University Kokomo.
The freshman started and missed all nine of her field goal attempts, including all three from behind the 3-point line. She did tally a pair of rebounds for the Bearcats (5-5, 2-1 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).
