Jay County High School’s girls basketball team handed South Adams a 47-24 loss Saturday in a game expected to decided the Allen County Athletic Conference regular season championship.
Freshman Shelby Caldwell scored 11 points to lead the Patriots (11-2, 4-0 ACAC), who jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never trailed. Taylor Homan returned from a leg injury to add 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
The loss was the first of the season fro South Adams (12-1, 3-1 ACAC), which got eight points from Lexi Dellinger.
