REDKEY — The search for a new town marshal was narrowed to three candidates when council met in executive session Thursday evening.
Redkey Town Council, in a special meeting following the executive session, announced interim marshal Jessica Maymi, Todd Miller and David Rhode as finalists for the position.
Maymi, former deputy marshal in Redkey, was named interim marshal Jan. 15 after Tracy Layman turned in his resignation. Layman accepted a position as an officer with the Dunkirk Police Department.
Miller, a native of Redkey, is employed at Corrections Corporation of America in Whiteville, Tennessee, and was a park ranger with Chickasaw State Park in Tennessee. He is police academy certified in Indiana and Tennessee.
Rhode is an officer with the Eaton Police Department and lives in Yorktown. He is a captain with the Indiana National Guard Reserve.
Council members Kyle Champ, Mike Wright, Ted Friddle, Greg Curme and Charles “Red” Coons will interview the candidates at 6 p.m. Wednesday in an executive session. They expect to hire a candidate at their regularly scheduled Feb. 19 meeting.
