Adult day care will be blessing

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
A headline in the Feb. 5 edition of The Commercial Review read: “CFS is on the move.”
Community and Family Services executive director Andy Glentzer outlines in the article the new level of services that will be available. One new service that caught my attention was the availability for adult day care.
When the level of need for an adult isn’t such that health care placement is warranted nor 24-hour assisted care an option, day care can be a viable solution. What a blessing this type of service can be to those individuals who live alone but might choose to visit a day care even periodically for socialization and stimulation. This type of service is much needed and is a viable alternative to 24-hour care in any county.

So, kudos to the Jay County 20/20 process and CFS for seeing a need in Jay County and addressing this concern.
In the planning, please consider the option of volunteers to assist with activities. An adult day care in Delaware County uses volunteers for a variety of options utilizing each volunteers’ unique gifts and talents.
