Kahlig sets career highs

Collegiate Check-up

It took five games for Elijah Kahlig to crack the starting lineup for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team.
Since then, he’s made the most of his opportunities on the court for the Oilers.
The 2014 Fort Recovery High School graduate set a new career-high in scoring Friday in the Oilers’ 79-73 loss to Ferris State.

Kahlig scored 13 points as he went 4-of-10 from the field, including a 3-of-8 effort from behind the 3-point line. He also made both of his free-throw attempts in the loss to the streaking Bulldogs, who have won 10 in a row.
The freshman surpassed his previous high of 11 points he set Dec. 19 against St. Andrews. He shot a career-high 57 percent in that game for the Oilers (5-5).
Kahlig has started each of the last six games for Findlay and is averaging 7.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in nearly 24 minutes.
