The host Jay County High School girls swim team won the inaugural Allen County Athletic Conference championship Saturday, scoring 437 points to outdistance South Adams by 34.
Bluffton totaled 400 points to claim the boys title by 48 over the runner-up Patriots.
The JCHS girls put an exclamation point on their victory with a record-breaking effort in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Senior Katy Smeltzer, sisters Sophie and Alex Bader and their cousin Anne Vormohr finished in 3 minutes, 36.79 seconds, to shatter the previous mark of 3:41.53.
