Coach says thank you for 17 years
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
Wow, what a great experience.
Jay County has been a great place to teach and coach. I feel so fortunate that they hired me 17 years ago to guide their basketball team and program. The administration, teachers and staff are second to none and I will miss them all dearly.
The community’s support for the basketball program was amazing. Our following at home and away games always made me so proud, and it helped inspire our team to many victories. Special thanks to the state’s best band and cheerleaders for all their time and commitment in helping make game night at Jay County an awesome event.
The basketball players at Jay County obviously hold a special place in my heart. We tried to build toughness, discipline and teamwork. We pushed them hard both mentally and physically to create a team that would demonstrate poise and toughness on and off the floor. A team that would never let up and never let down because we were trained to play like champions. Mission accomplished Patriots.
I am going to miss what we have built together, which has been some really strong bonds and great memories.
Patriot basketball is strong and will continue to be so with the outstanding young men we have in the program now. Continue to play with toughness, discipline and poise.
Most importantly thanks for allowing me to coach you because it has been a privilege and an honor. I wish all of you success on and off the floor.
Team on three!
Thanks for an unbelievable journey.
