B&S owners say thank you

To the editor
We would like to publicly thank some very special people that came to our aid during the floods.
As our business takes us out of town often, we were not in Portland during any of the recent floods. If it were not for Jim and Cindy Wright, J.B. Goodrich, Melinda Hutchison Shoemaker, Bob and Claudia May and Scott Swingley, we could have suffered the effects of flooding. These great friends came to our aid while we were not home to sandbag our two downtown buildings. This was not an easy task and the job was not completed until wee hours of the morning.
While many of you were in bed, these people stayed until the job was done. Once, it was 3 a.m.
We were fortunate that the water did not get high enough for us to be affected, but just as soon as you don’t sandbag you would have wished you did.
Our friends didn’t just do this for us once, they did it three times. That is what friends do for each other.
Again, thank you for helping us when we needed you.
