FR chooses Wagner
Fort Recovery Village Council
FORT RECOVERY — Wagner Paving will handle Fort Recovery’s street overlay project.
The Laura, Ohio, company’s bid of $227,769.25 was selected by village council at a special meeting Wednesday. The cost comes in below the engineer’s estimate of $238,838.50.
Between now and September, Wagner Paving will work on First, Railroad, Boundary, Broadway, Oak, Third, High and Wagner streets.
Fort Recovery also received bids of $236,060 from Buehler Asphalt and $255,348 from Shelley Company.
The 2016 budget was read for the third time, making it official. It will be sent to the Mercer County auditor.
Council discussed purchasing additional property at the corner of Center Street and Elm Road (Ohio 49), but took no action.
The village has already purchased one property there at a sheriff’s sale for $28,100 and expects to close the deal in the next few weeks, village administrator Randy Diller said. The village will tear down a vacant house on that property to improve visibility at the intersection.
