Meridian Street in downtown Portland is now open.
Flood waters receded significantly Saturday evening, allowing Portland police to open Meridian Street (U.S. 27). It had been closed for about 18 hours as water covered the area between Walnut and Race streets.
Law enforcement officials ask drivers to continue to use caution and avoid attempting to drive through high water.
