Gov. Pence is overstepping
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
Dear Indiana Gov. Mike Pence,
We as Indiana voters are taking issue with some of the things you are trying to do. We voted for Glenda Ritz as Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Everything you are doing against that position negates our vote and its importance. This, we feel is not right, and not within your powers as governor.
Another thing you are doing is working to transfer our local decision making to the state level. This will not do, either.
We need local people involved, and making local decisions. It’s one of the things that keeps people voting, and helps make our country a democracy. Without that, we would be a dictatorship, and that is not a principal our country was founded on.
And you want to be re-elected? These kind of things are what has put our state and national governments in the existing gridlock.
We respectfully bring this to your attention in hopes of getting things rectified.
Sincerely,
Charles M. Loper Jr. and Verna R. Loper
