Thanks for nomination
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I’d like to express my thanks and gratitude to the Jay County Chamber of Commerce for the honor of being nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
I have always enjoyed and thrived on participating and leading the younger generation throughout their learning years. It has always been so much fun for me and such a joy when a former student spies me in Walmart and runs up to give me a big hug or a past 4-H student now in her 50s approaches me and comments that she still uses a skill that I taught her so many years ago.
My years of fun was all made possible for me thanks to a loving, patient husband, our helpful children, thoughtful friends, dedicated and eager teachers and helpers. Many years of encouragement and donations have come from the First Presbyterian Church and its caring members. Thanks also for the coverage and publicity from The Commercial Review and WPGW radio station.
I have so enjoyed lots of smiles from young and old with many special memories from my many years of “playing.”
Sincerely,
Gloria Green
