A dunk off the opening tip set the tone Saturday as the Jay County High School boys basketball team opened its season with a 71-33 win over the visiting Lakewood Park Christian Panthers.
Jay Houck’s dunk in the opening seconds of the game started a first quarter in which the Patriots also hit three 3-pointers. They were up 33-14 at the half and racked up 23 points in the third quarter.
Adam Dirksen and Houck shared the team highs of 17 points and seven rebounds. Kyler Carvel dished out six assists.
