Arts Place says thanks for support

To the editor:
Thank you once again to our Arts Place supporters.
Over 200 people attended the 33rd Annual Holiday Benefit Auction at Arts Place on Nov. 20 and we are delighted to announce that $23,520.50 was raised to support our many programs and services such as MusicWorks, Arts in the Parks, exhibits and performances. The auction is the kick-off event for the 2016 annual fundraising campaign, which has a private sector giving goal of $420,000. As Arts Place faces significant hurdles in continuing to provide high quality programs and services, we truly appreciate the strong community support that was shown by everyone to make this year’s auction such a success.
We would especially like to recognize:
•Loy Realty & Auction, Doug and Gary Loy and staff for providing the auctioneering services.
•Chair Mindy Weaver and co-chair Sara Farris, and committee members Connie Roberts, Anni McClung, Susann Gilbert and Sue Burk.
•Committee members and the volunteers who solicited the donations.
•Arts Place Board of Directors, for its part in donating food, First Merchants Bank for sponsoring in part our reception and Jay County Beverage, Glass Bonsai, Fisher Packing, Wal-Mart and Cooper Farms for their generous donations to the refreshments.
•The numerous businesses and individuals who donated sale items, food and cash.
•Members of Delta Theta Tau Sorority for all of their help with set-up.
•Wine stewards Kari Tressler and Tracy Braun.
•Auction runners Alex Huey and Kate Theurer.
•Food servers Julia Ashman, Barry Osselaer and Vicki Leonard.
•Popcorn poppers Julia McClung and Shelby McClain.
•The dedicated staff at Arts Place.
•And most importantly, the very enthusiastic and generous crowd who attended this year’s auction.
