Another week of running meant another record for Eme Miller.
The 2012 Jay County High School graduate added another Defiance College record to her resume Saturday at the Polar Bear Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern.
Miller, a senior, placed second in the 1,500-meter run, finishing less than a second behind Findlay’s Erica Battac. She completed the race in 4 minutes, 58 seconds.
She became the first runner in Yellow Jacket history to break the five-minute mark in the event, surpassing the record of 5:00.3 that Patty Schiwebert set in 1978. That accomplishment followed her April 16 effort at the All-Ohio Division III Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University, where she broke her own mark in the 3,000 steeplechase.
Miller also owns the Defiance outdoor record in the 5,000 run, and indoor records in the 1,000-, 3,000- and 5,000-meter events as well as the mile. She is the top runner in school history in cross country in both the 5K and 6K races.

In the second game, he entered as a relief pitcher, threw one pitch and recorded the final out of the game in an 8-4 victory for the Maple Leafs (19-31, 11-13 CL).
The former Starfire allowed one hit and struck out one in one inning Tuesday in a 6-1 loss to Indiana Wesleyan.
