Motter, Twigg were wed in October
Ashley Chian Motter and Garrick Logan Carl Twigg were wed in an Oct. 8 ceremony at Swiss Heritage Barn in Berne with Pastor Steve Arnold officiating.
The bride was given in marriage by her father Jeremy Hollopeter. She wore a gown of white multi-layered tulle over taffeta, a family heirloom of the groom’s family. The strapless basque bodice was accented with horsehair braid at the top and sprinkled with Austrian crystal wheels and bugle beads.
She accented her gown with a semi-cathedral train and carried a bouquet of red roses, orange carnations, yellow sunflowers, orange and yellow lilies and white hydrangeas.
Lindsey Hardymon, Portland, friend of the bride, and Alyssa Motter, Pennville, sister of the bride, both served as maids of honor and wore off the shoulder lace knee length dresses with cowboy boots. Hardymon’s dress was cranberry colored and Alyssa’s was tan. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.
Serving as bridesmaids were Katie Aker, Molly Twigg and Lindsay Myers, all of Portland, and Brooke Brotherton, Pennville. They dressed identical to the maids of honor and carried bouquets of purple stock, orange lilies, white hydrangeas and burgundy mums.
Flower girls were Jaylee Anne Twigg and Payten Grace Twigg, daughters of the couple, and Kenzlee McCoy, Fort Recovery. Auston Mykel Twigg, Portland, was the wagon puller and Wyatt Logan Twigg, Portland, was the ring bearer.
Best men were Matt Hardymon, friend of the groom, and Evan Twigg, brother of the groom, both of Portland.
Groomsmen were Nathan Markle, Kyle Brown, Preston Twigg and Kaleb Toland, all of Portland.
A reception followed the ceremony at Bryant Community Center.
Ashley is the daughter of Jeremy and Melany Hollopeter, Pennville. She is a 2014 graduate of Jay County High School and a 2016 graduate of Ross Medical Center. She is employed at Family Practice of Jay County.
Garrick is the son of Jill Twigg, Portland, and Rick Twigg, Bluffton. He is a 2009 graduate of JCHS and attended the University of Northwestern Ohio. He works at Fisher Packing Co., Redkey.
The couple resides in rural Portland.
