Dealing narcotics
A Portland man was sentenced recently in Jay Circuit Court on drug-related charges.
Isaac Alfont, 19, 695 S. Western Ave., Portland, pleaded guilty to dealing a narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony. As a part of a plea agreement, charges of maintaining a common nuisance and unlawful possession of a syringe, both Level 6 felonies, were dismissed.
Alfont was sentenced to three years in the Indiana Department of Correction, with all but two years suspended, and given 43 days credit for time already served. He was assessed $183 in court costs, ordered to pay a $200 drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee and was also placed on one year formal probation.
