The Maple Leaf men won one event Friday. They were second in another.
Tim Lehman was part of both top finishes.
The 2012 South Adams High School graduate was one of the leaders for the Goshen College men’s track team as it competed at the Don and Riley Zimmer Classic hosted by Trine.
Lehman teamed with Luke Graber, Ryan Smith and Trever Yoder to win the 4,000-meter distance medley in 10 minutes, 46.5 seconds. They were 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up host Thunder.
The senior also teamed with Lucas Harnish, Christian Stevens and Graber for second in the 4x400 relay behind Spring Arbor in a field of 13 teams. They posted a time of 3:31.32.

Kegan Comer
Jay County – 2013
Was one of four University of St. Francis players to reach double figures Wednesday in the men’s basketball team’s 85-76 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Comer tallied 12 points for the NAIA Division II No. 3 Cougars, who have won four in a row. He also had three rebounds, two assists and a block.
The junior totaled seven points, three assists, one rebound and one steal Saturday as the Cougars topped Grace 85-81.

Cady Farlow
South Adams – 2015
Finished fourth or better in two events for the Purdue University women’s swim team Friday and Saturday as it split a triple dual with the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the host Northwestern Wildcats.
Farlow was third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute: 3.27 seconds, helping the No. 18 Boilermakers finish with three of the top four spots.
Purdue (6-3, 4-3 Big Ten) also had three finish in the top four of the 200 breaststroke, with Farlow placing fourth in 2:18.04.

The Boilermakers defeated the Wildcats 244-109 but lost to the No. 20 Golden Gophers 191-162.

Wade Gelhaus
Fort Recovery – 2013
Gave the NCAA Division II No. 21 Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team strong minutes off the bench Monday in a 72-69 victory over Hillsdale.
Gelhaus went 2-for-3 from both the field and the line to finish with six points for the Cardinals (17-4). He also had four rebounds and a steal.
The senior grabbed four rebounds Saturday in a 74-72 win for the Cardinals over Ferris State. He had one assist in a 66-56 win Jan. 28 over Grand Valley State.

Elijah Kahlig

Fort Recovery – 2014
Scored three points off the bench for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team Monday in a 76-68 victory over Wayne State.
The sophomore played 12 minutes, going 1-for-3 from the field with one rebound.
Kahlig made 3-of-4 3-point attempts to finish with nine points Saturday, helping the Oilers (15-5, 11-4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) beat Malone, 83-67.
He also had four points in 14 minutes Jan. 28 in a 79-57 victory over Walsh.
Sawyer Miller
South Adams – 2015
Finished in fifth place for the Indiana Tech wrestling team on Jan. 23 in the Alma College Open.
The 133-pound freshman reached the semifinal thanks to a bye, a pin of Triton College’s Justin Parker and a 4-0 decision over Richard DeMarios.
Miller then lost back-to-back matches against Salvatore Profaci of Michigan and Indiana freshman Garrett Pepple, an East Noble graduate.
The SAHS product won his fifth place match over Central Michigan’s Carter Ballinger by injury default. He is now 10-4 on the year.
Jason Pottkotter
Fort Recovery – 2012
Played for the University of Northwestern Ohio men’s basketball team Wednesday in its 78-68 loss to Madonna.
Pottkotter came off the bench for three points, two assists, one steal, one block and one rebound for the Racers (8-17). He also had an assist and a steal Saturday in an 88-72 loss to Davenport.

Kylie Kahlig
Fort Recovery – 2012
Hit both of her foul shots Wednesday in the University of Northwestern Ohio women’s basketball team’s 70-47 loss to Madonna.
Kahlig scored her only points at the line while adding two rebounds and a steal as the Racers slipped below .500 at 12-13. She had one rebound in Saturday’s 87-60 loss to NAIA Division II No. 6 Davenport.

Abbi Dunlavy
Jay County – 2014
Ran for the IPFW women’s track team Jan. 23 in the IPFW duals.
The sophomore was 16th in the 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 2 minutes, 43.29 seconds. Allie Wright of IUPUI won in 2:17.28.
She joined Emma Rafuse, Brittany Fensler and Emily Roman to place second in the 4x800 relay in 10:20.37.
