The 2015-16 basketball season marks the 10-year anniversary of the Jay County High School boys team making a run to the 2006 Class 3A state championship game. This is the eighth in a series of weekly looks back at that season.

With his team trailing by two in the third quarter, Zac Green took over. The senior went on a personal 9-0 run, and Jay County never let its lead slip to fewer than five points the rest of the way in a 53-45 win over?Eastbrook.
Green’s 14 points paced the Patriots, and Scott “Scooter” Bruggeman joined him in double figures with 12 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds. Bruggeman went 5-for-5 at the line in the closing moments to seal the victory.

Jay County took a late lead on a Green 3-pointer, but Luke Bihn hit a pair of free throws with 8.9 seconds left as the Patriots fell 55-54 to the host Fort Recovery Indians.
Green’s triple came with 22 seconds left, setting up the Bihn heroics from the foul line. The Patriots’ still had a chance, but turned the ball over on their final possession of the game.
Tyler Rigby scored 16 points to lead JCHS. Green followed with 13, and Corey Comer scored 10.
Travis VanSkyock tallied 22 for the Indians, who shot 63 percent.
