She should adjust viewing habits
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
In a recent piece Chatty Kathryne made two statements that jumped out at me.
About FOX News she says, “Usually I think the network doesn’t deserve enough viewers to stay on the air.”
It would seem to me that the best journalists keep an open mind and at least expose themselves to the facts and issues of those who disagree with them. FOX hard news shows often provide news that you won’t even find on the left wing networks. And isn’t it strange that FOX doubles the ratings of the liberal networks that barely draw enough viewers to stay on the air.
She also says of Republicans, “the stubborn uncompromising positions that might appeal to primary voters are not what will work in the general election or the White House.” I find it amazing that those on the left are unable to see that his stubborn uncompromising positions worked well for Obama in the election and are in fact one of the primary reasons for his failure as a President. And (Sen. Harry) Reid was at least as obstructionist as the Republican House. Perhaps she really does need a touch of the balance that FOX could give her.
Strange that those low information FOX viewers were exposed to both sets of facts instead of the one sided litany of “obstructionist Republicans” blaring from the left wing media and our own editorial page. We may consider some of our party’s obstructionism as necessary, but we don’t deny it exists as most Dems do of their party. Perhaps that is yet another reason she should reconsider watching FOX.
