While at South Adams High School, Cady Farlow was an impact swimmer for the Starfires.
She’s quickly becoming an important member for the Boilermakers.
Farlow, a 2015 SAHS graduate, earned a pair of top-four finishes Sunday for the Purdue University women’s swim team at the Florida International University Sprint Invitational.
The freshman placed third in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 30.25 seconds, just 0.14 behind the winner Christina Loh of Indian River State College. Farlow also finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 5.59 seconds.
She placed 14th in the 50 freestyle (25.32) and 17th in the 100 freestyle (54.92).
Farlow scored 31 of the Boilermakers’ 758.5 points as they won the invite, finishing ahead of FIU (620) and Duquesne (439.5).

Kegan Comer
Jay County – 2013
Scored in double figures to help the University of St. Francis men’s basketball team to an 87-75 victory Saturday over fourth-ranked Marian that vaulted the Cougars into the top 10.
Comer hit a pair of three pointers and scored 14 points for USF (14-3), which climbed to No. 4 in the NAIA Division II poll. He added four assists, two blocks, two steals and a rebound.
The junior totaled nine points, five rebounds and a team-high four assists Wednesday as the Cougars won their ninth straight game, 74-63 over Mount Vernon Nazarene.

Jason Pottkotter
Fort Recovery – 2012
Helped lead the a massive rebounding advantage for the University of Northwestern Ohio men’s basketball team as it topped Siena Heights 62-59.
Pottkotter shared the team high of six rebounds with teammates Ziar Anderson and Jorge Concepcion III as the Racers beat Siena Heights on the glass by a 46-27 margin. He also had seven points and a steal.

He also had seven points, one assist and one rebound Wednesday as UNOH (7-10) fell 62-50 to Lourdes.

Sawyer Miller
South Adams – 2015
Split a pair of matches Saturday for the NAIA No. 2 Indiana Tech wrestling team in the Wendy’s Duals at Ashland University.
Miller, who is ranked fifth at 125 pounds, lost his first match 7-0 against Kyle Keller of University of Indianapolis. He then bounced back for a 4-3 decision against Trae Coopwood of Ashland. Both matches were in the 133-pound weight division.
The SAHS product moves to 8-3 on the season.

Kylie Kahlig
Fort Recovery – 2012
Provided efficiency off the bench Saturday in the University of Northwestern Ohio’s women’s basketball team’s 60-49 loss to Siena Heights.
Kahlig made both of her field-goal attempts, including a 3-pointer, to finish with five points for the Racers (9-8). She also had three rebounds, two steals and a block.
The senior added two steals, a rebound and a block in Wednesday’s 67-45 win over Lourdes.

Fort Recovery – 2014
Had five points and a rebound off the bench for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team Sunday in an 82-66 victory against Grand Valley State.
The sophomore is 2-of-3 from the field and made his only free throw in 16 minutes. He also tallied an assist.
Kahlig scored three points, tallied one assist and one steal as the Oilers (6-5, 3-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) lost Saturday to Ferris State, 72-69.

Wade Gelhaus
Fort Recovery – 2013
Played for the Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team in Saturday’s 72-69 loss to Malone.
Gelhaus finished with four rebounds, two points, one assist and one steal for the Cardinals (9-2). He also had one block in Sunday’s 94-89 win over Walsh.

Scott Schwieterman
Jay County – 2013
Returned to action in the NAIA Division II No. 20 Indiana Tech men’s basketball team’s 73-47 win Saturday over Lawrence Tech after missing four games with a pinched nerve.
Schwieterman saw five minutes of action for the Warriors (12-5) and grabbed one rebound.
