Jay School Board on Monday selected Tammy Bennett to fill its open seat.
In a meeting that lasted only about a minute, the board voted to select Bennett, a rural Redkey resident, from a group of five candidates who applied to fill the seat vacated when Mike Masters resigned effective Dec. 31. The vote followed an hour-long executive discussion to discuss the candidates.
Other candidates were Linda Brackman, Phil Ford, Jeff Geesaman and Travis Shawver.
