A fire destroyed a house at 320 N. Indiana St. in Dunkirk this afternoon.
Dunkirk Fire Department was called about 1:45 p.m. to a fire at the home, which is being rented by Marcus Ritenour and his family.
Ritenour said he and his father-in-law attempted to hold off the fire with a garden hose until Dunkirk Fire Department arrived but were unable to do so.
No one was inside the house when the fire started, and no injuries were reported. The family’s cat, Pretty Girl, was killed in the fire.
