Creek needs to be cleaned
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
A couple of things:
1) Two of Redkey’s town council members have addressed the Jay County Commissioners on the condition of Halfway Creek through Redkey.
It is completely grown over with grass and weeds, and you would barely know there is water there. If we had a heavy rainfall we would dam up at several places, causing flooding, not to mention the number of snakes that have been seen in there this year.
Can we please get this cleaned out — not sprayed, but completely cut out?
2) Several members of my family, including myself, attended the Frozen stage show at Glass Days on June 4 in Dunkirk.
The audience was thrilled by the show put on by kids of all ages. There was lots of talent in that group.
Elsa and Anna were great.
This took a lot of work on everyone’s part, from the actors, director, help behind the scenes and Cindy Shepherd and her Glass Days committee members. Hats off to all of them.
Can’t wait to see what they do next year.
