Springer takes a good approach
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I'm writing this letter in response to the letter to the editor from Larry Best in Thursday’s edition of The Commercial Review.
I personally do not know Police Chief Nathan Springer. I did read his letter to the editor a few months ago and wasn't offended by what it said.
I saw no chest pounding I'm the police chief in it. I think I remember reading that if someone wanted help he would be there to help and if not he would be coming after them.
I believe they need to be stopped. I believe they need to be helped.
I also know since writing that letter he has attended group meetings with addicts trying to get a better understanding of what is happening in our community.
He's the best we have right now.
There are people out there that have no intentions of not using drugs and there's people desperately wanting help that are thrown into the court system by the “chest pounding” people in our community.
They do exist, police chief Nathan Springer isn't one of them.
