The Foresters had a little bit of Patriot flair on Monday.
Lucas Hendee and Kyle Selvey, both 2014 Jay County High School graduates, made appearances for the Huntington University baseball team in a 12-6 loss at Cumberland (Tennessee).
Hendee, who was the Patriots’ catcher during his senior season, entered as a pinch hitter for the Foresters (4-15), and recorded an RBI single. It was his first hit, RBI and appearance. He did not play as a freshman.
Selvey was put in the game as a pinch runner, but was left stranded. He then went hitless in his only at bat.
Selvey has played in three games so far this season. He’s registered one at bat and scored once.
The Foresters travel to Ohio to take on the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars in a doubleheader Saturday.

Collin Affolder
S. Adams – 2014
Was one of four players to drive in two runs for the Bethel College baseball team in a 13-12 victory March 17 against Goshen College.
One of those RBIs came on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch as part of a nine-run seventh inning, as the Pilots (2-12) erased a 10-4 deficit in their final at bat.
The sophomore outfielder walked in each of the first two innings, and hit an RBI double in the fourth.

Affolder is batting .200 with eight hits, two RBIs and three runs in 14 games.

Wade Gelhaus
Fort Rec. – 2013
Played for the No. 19 Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team as its season came to an end Wednesday with an 81-68 loss to sixth-ranked Western Oregon in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Gelhaus split a pair of free throws as he scored one point for the Cardinals, who finished at 25-8. He also had one assist and one block.

Chandler Ingle
S. Adams – 2015
Scored as a pinch runner for the Goshen College baseball team in a 3-1 win March 17 in the second game of a doubleheader against the Bethel College Pilots.
The freshman entered during the bottom of the sixth inning for catcher Clinton Stroble II. Ingle reached third on a bunt and an error, then scored on a sacrifice fly to right field.
Ingle has a .143 AVG with one hit, three runs and one walk in nine games.
