United Way leadership says thanks

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
Thank you Jay County.
Touching the lives of the people in our community is what the United Way of Jay County does best. And thanks to the amazing and generous people of Jay County we were able to reach 97 percent of our goal. That is an A in any grade book.
With the help of the United Way, 20 plus local service agencies can continue to enhance the lives of the people who live in our community. From providing financial support for travel and medical expenses of Jay County residents with cancer to enhancing the minds and physical well-being of the youth in our community, we all directly or indirectly benefit from the United Way.
United Way goes beyond temporary fixes to build lasting change in Jay County. By bringing people and organizations together we affect thousands of lives each year in Jay County. United Way truly has an extraordinary impact on Jay County.
We would like to thank this year’s United Way Campaign cabinet division chairs: Industrial – Scott Benter and Steve Zielinski; Commerce/professional – Vicki Tague and Mike Engels; Education – Amy Schemenaur, Katie Clark and Zack Keller; Leadership – Pat and Pam Bennett; Agriculture – Mark Tillman; Small business – Jeanna Ford; Health care – Vicki Delzeith; Service organizations – Traci Gross; Government – Connie Southworth and Mickey Scott. We would especially like to thank all the wonderful people who donated to this year’s successful campaign.
With your support, we are reaching for new heights.
We are looking forward to next year’s campaign as Indiana celebrates its bicentennial. We plan to go for the blue and the gold.
Thank you for helping make a difference.
