Jay County Council approved a new position to be added to Community Corrections and a classification change for an assessor’s office employ Wednesday.
Community Corrections will add a deputy director at a salary of $38,979, which will be paid for entirely from grant funds. The new classification for the assessor’s office employee will bump her salary up by about $3,000 to $29,920.
Council also approved rules for making employee classification requests, tabled a decision about improvements at Jay County Retirement Center and invited department heads to be more involved in the budget process.
