Community made donations possible
To the editor: I am writing this as a clarification of recent donations reported to be given by my family in memory of our daughter, Mandy, who died in an auto accident in February 2015.
The fact is, those donations were given from monies raised at the first benefit held in honor of Mandy in February.
Presentations have been made to the following because of the success of that benefit: a student entering the cosmetology field in the form of a scholarship, Jay Community Center, Gift of the Heart Fund at Jay County High School, Nada’s Ministry, Pregnancy Care Center, St. Peter Neurological Center in Burkettsville, Ohio, and Jay County Cancer Society.
Delta Theta Tau sorority has also been able to assemble personal hygiene bags for middle school girls in honor of Mandy.
And the list will grow.
The second annual benefit in honor of Mandy will be held Feb. 17, 2017, with one of Mandy’s favorite meals being served and a live/silent auction.
All money raised will again be turned back into the community to help others.
In close, a personal note: Let those you care about know now, because we are not guaranteed that there will be a tomorrow.
With heartfelt thanks and gratitude,
Charlene and Roger Theurer
