Indiana 26 is a dream
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
Sunday was a gray, dismal kind of day that’s only good for watching your favorite NFL team or some other mundane little indoor activity after church.
It was two hours before our good friends’ grandson, Tyler Eifert, would be playing. I decided to take my beautiful wife on a little poaching trip out the newly renovated, but not yet open, Indiana 26 west.
Wow. What a surprise. After having driven the road for four years to work 60 years ago and seeing no improvements since then, the new Indiana 26 is a dream to anyone traveling west.
No more narrow bridges and too-narrow lanes. No more 90-degree turns. No more too-close shoulders. No more feeling of being on a roller coaster on a narrow-gauge railroad. Wow.
To use one of Eldrew Cissel’s favorite words, “kudos” to Indiana Department of Transportation. You got it right.
Sincerely,
Larry Chittum

P.S. – Lane change rumble strips too.
