Choose Banks to lead in District 3
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I can say that the best candidate currently in the race to represent the good people of Indiana's 3rd district in Washington, D.C., is Indiana Sen. Jim Banks.
He has shown his commitment to Hoosiers through his service in politics, the Navy and in civil society. He is a man of strong principles, integrity and personal character.
There is no doubt in my mind that he is the man best suited to go to Washington to fix the mess that the last eight years have brought. Just as he has throughout his life, I believe he will serve Indiana nobly.
Jim Banks is a man who knows the ins and outs of politics. He has proudly served in Indiana's 17th Senate District since 2010. He has served on several standing committees, including as chair of Veteran Affairs and the Military. He was also the chair of the Whitley County GOP and was a member of the Whitley County Council before joining the state senate. He has had a long career in politics so he clearly has the experience needed to serve in higher office.
However, there is more to him than just his political history. He has also served in the Navy Reserve and received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. He was the President of the Columbia City Rotary Club and is still a current member. All of this shows a strong commitment to public service.
For these reasons, I believe his experience makes him qualified to serve Indiana in Congress.
