Organization truly does offer hope

To the editor:
Do you know about A Better Life – Briana’s Hope?
Do you know there is a group of caring, compassionate folks meeting in your town every Tuesday night?
A group that will respect and accept you as you are, feed you and provide the support, resources and encouragement needed to break free from addiction. A group filled with individuals who have been there, done that and have the scars to prove it. A group dedicated to staying clean and sober. A group where you will be greeted with big smiles, lots of love and probably multiple hugs. A group filled with hope for the future, laughter and excitement about achieving new dreams.
Whether you are a regular or it’s your first visit, we’re glad you decided to join us.
We at Dunkirk A Better Life – Briana’s Hope believe the choice is yours, and because you made that choice we want to make your evening the best thing that happens to you that day, and pray that when you leave you are feeling better and more excited about yourself. You are not who people say you are, and not the person you say you are. We believe every dream can be reached.
It’s not over yet. Let us show you how to bring that beautiful, positive person out and let the dreams begin again.
We love to laugh and have a good time. We never point a finger or make anyone talk if they don’t want to. Many have sat and just observed, but one thing is for sure, they enjoyed their visit.
We hear stories from people that have been there and how they are fighting the battle. We also believe the more people you have in your corner, the more help you have to fight this ugly addiction, the better. We are on your side.
Whether it is your first visit or your 60th, whether you have been clean three hours or 200 days, you don’t have to travel the path alone. Make a choice to end your downward spiral, a choice to love yourself, a choice to believe in yourself, a choice for a second chance, a choice for a better life.
It may not be easy, but it is possible. And there is a group of people ready to walk alongside you.
If you want something you have never had you have to do something you have never done.
Come to the American Baptist Church, 427 S. Main St., Dunkirk, at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday and see for yourself.
