Kirsten Jutte continues to outdo herself.
Jutte, a 2016 Fort Recovery High School graduate, reached a new career-high assist total for the Capital University volleyball team on Friday in a 3-2 loss (25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 19-25, 15-7) to Mount St. Joseph during the HCAC/OAC Crossover tournament at Hanover (Ind.) College.
The freshman recorded 44 helpers, three more than her previous career-high she set Sept. 17. She also added nine digs, one block and once ace.
Earlier in the day, she totaled 18 assits, five digs, a pair of kills and two blocks in a 3-0 loss to host Hanover.
Saturday, Jutte added 58 assists in a pair of losses. She reached 22 against Bluffton and 36 against Transylvania. She also notched seven kills, 13 digs and a pair of aces.
The former Indian has played in all 17 matches for the Crusaders (4-13). She leads the team with 453 assists.

Eric Hemmelgarn
Jay County – 2014
Had five tackles and a sack for the University of Saint Francis football team in a 63-7 victory Saturday against Lindenwood University-Bellville.
Hemmelgarn sacked quarterback Darrien Boone for an 8-yard loss on first down. The Lynx punted three plays later. Hemmelgarn teamed with Lucas Sparks for a 4-yard sack early in the second quarter as well.
The sophomore has played in all four games this season, and his 14 total tackles are eighth on the team. He is third for the NAIA No. 2 Cougars (4-0) with 4.5 tackles for loss and is second with three sacks.

Cassidy Rammel
Fort Recovery – 2016
Led the University of Saint Francis volleyball team in kills for three consecutive matches.
The sophomore tallied seven kills, led the team with five aces while adding two assists and three digs on Friday in a 25-21, 25-18, 27-25 loss to Marian.
She then totaled 14 kills with five aces and three digs in a 25-23, 26-24, 25-16 sweep of Spring Arbor on Saturday. Rammel then recorded 11 kills with one block in a 25-13, 25-28, 25-18 loss Tuesday to Mt. Vernon Nazarene.
The former Indian leads the Cougars (3-15, 2-8 Crossroads League) with 164 kills.

Kelsey Fiely
Fort Recovery – 2013
Came off the bench Wednesday to help the University of Northwestern Ohio volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-6, 25-13 blowout of Michigan-Dearborn.
Fiely saw action in all three sets and finished with four digs for the Racers (10-11). She also put up one assist.

Gabbie Mann
Jay County – 2016
Played for the IPFW women’s soccer team Sunday in a 3-0 loss to Indiana State.
The freshman played eight minutes — her fewest so far this season — as a substitute and did not record any stats.
Mann has appeared in all 11 games, logged 278 minutes, one assist and one shot.

Derek Wanner
South Adams – 2015
Played for the Taylor University football team Saturday in a 34-21 victory against Olivet Nazarene University.
The sophomore defensive back had one tackle for the Trojans (2-3), stopping ONU’s Keandre Murph after a 7-yard gain.

Morgan Lennartz
Fort Recovery – 2016
Played for the IU-East volleyball team on Tuesday in a 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 sweep of Ohio Christian.
Lennartz played as a reserve, and recorded one kill on four attacks for the Red Wolves (10-9).

Ava Kunkler
Jay County – 2016
Notched kills in a pair of matches for the University of Saint Francis volleyball team.
She tallied two kills in a 3-0 sweep of Spring Arbor on Saturday. She added three kills and assisted on one block in a 3-0 defeat to Mount Vernon Nazarene.
