Commissioners should take cut
Letters to the editor
To the editor:
I read the news report on the Jay County Commissioners meeting on April 10.
I found it very interesting their workload has dropped to the point they only need to meet two times a month. If that is the case, they need to remember to cut their pay by half also.
They receive $20,600 with insurance or $858.33 per meeting; looks a little high pay for Jay County elected officials. At four times amonth it was $429.16 a meeting.
Jay County Council receives $380.64 per meeting or $4,567.68 per year, which might also be a bit high for what they do. I think we can all agree that $858.33 for a three-hour meeting is just too much.
