Mower struck

A motorhome and a mower were damaged in a collision Monday night.

Richard A. Naze, 72, 3201 W. Fusion Road, Muncie, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was driving south on U.S. 27 when he fell asleep. He drove off the west side of the road and the trailer he was towing behind the motorhome struck Jason Roessner’s mower. Roessner was driving a 2016 John Deere Z930m EFI zero-turn mower. Naze was driving a 2007 Renegade motorhome, registered to K and D Motorsports, 5910 Lariat Loop, Missoula, Montana.

Damage in the 7:50 p.m. accident is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.



Backing accident

Two cars sustained damage in an accident Tuesday evening in Portland.

Kindra D. Hensley, 28, 602 Katelynn Drive, Portland, was backing her car out of a parking space on North Street near Western Avenue and struck the driver’s side of a car parked on North Street. Hensley was driving her 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. The parked car, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, is registered to Andrew L. Pfeifer, 615 W. North St., Portland.

Damage in the 5:40 p.m. accident is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
