Local notes

Boomer registrations open

Registration is ongoing for both Boomer flag football and soccer for the 2017 season.

Both sports are for boys and girls ages 3 through 14. Cost is $50 per player in each sport. Football players will receive a shirt and a mouthpiece, while soccer players will receive a shirt and practice ball.

Deadline to register for either sport is Sunday.

Games will be played Saturdays throughout September and October.

Patriots to honor champions

The Jay County High School football team will honor the 10-year anniversary of its 2007 sectional championship team.

The celebration will be during halftime of the season opener Aug. 18 against Blackford.

All former players and coaches are encouraged to attend.
