Could money be used for roads?
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
With the finishing touches and the commissioning of the windmills in Jay and Randolph counties, I have a question.
Could any of the money that Jay County will receive from this project be used for new road signs?
I see an increased need for safety for all drivers, especially those unfamiliar with our county roads who visit to see the windmills. There are many new truck drivers on our roads due to new industry and farming enterprises, in addition to newly licensed drivers.
The majority of our stop signs do not have stop ahead signs, even before highways. Most curves are not properly labeled with arrows. Many existing stop signs do not have any reflection left in them, resulting in difficultly seeing them.
If the money received from the project could be used for road safety, that would benefit everyone living in and passing through Jay County.
Thank you very much.
