Cady Farlow has three school records for the Starfires.
Wednesday she etched her name into Boilermaker history.
Farlow, a 2015 South Adams High School graduate, helped the host Purdue University women’s swim team set a new school record in the 200 medley relay on the first day of the Big Ten Championships.
Farlow, who holds the 100-yard breaststroke and 100 freestyle records at South Adams as well as taking part in the record-setting 200 medley relay team, swam the breaststroke leg for Purdue’s 200 medley relay team that finished sixth.
The sophomore had a split time of 27.27 seconds, teaming with Jacklyn Smailis, MeaganLim and Danielle Auckley to set a new Boilermaker record of 1 minute, 38.20 seconds. It was about two seconds faster than their seed time and 0.27 seconds faster than the Purdue squad that set the mark in 2015.
The quartet finished sixth, with Minnesota claiming the championship with a pool- and B1G-record 1:35.55.
Minnesota leads with 118 points through two events. Purdue is sixth with 92 points.

Earned a pair of top-eight individual finishes and all-conference honors for the Tiffin University men’s swim team Feb. 8 through Saturday in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.
Keen was fifth and eighth respectively in the 200- and 100-yard backstroke events. He had a time of 1 minute, 47.95 seconds, in the former to earn a national B standard, and finished the latter in 50.40 seconds.
He was also part of the third-place 400 freestyle relay, teaming with LucasMerigue Bernardo, Jonah Sumfleth and Ygor Zandardo Bortolato to finish in 3:04.35, as all four earned third-team all-GLIAC honors.
Keen was also 10th in the 200 IM (1:51.92) and 17th in 100butterfly (51.13).
The 2015 IHSAA state medalist also helped the 400 medley relay team place fifth and the 200 medley relay team finish sixth.
Wade Gelhaus
Fort Recovery – 2013
Recorded his first double-double of the season Saturday as the Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team fell 66-60 to Michigan Tech.
Gelhaus hauled down a game-high 12 rebounds, half of which came on the offensive end, to go along with 11 points. He also had one block, one steal and one assist from the Cardinals (15-10).
The senior also totaled three points, nine rebounds, two blocks and a steal Feb. 9 in a 63-62 victory over Northern Michigan.

Was the No. 2 scorer for the NAIA Division II No. 22 Indiana Tech men’s basketball team Saturday in its 85-73 loss to the University of Northwestern Ohio.
Schwieterman shot 50 percent from the field to finish with 15 points. He also had eight rebounds and one assist for the Warriors (20-9).
The junior totaled eight points, sixboards and two blocks Wednesday as Indiana Tech fell 100-88 to Marygrove.
Abby Wendel

Finished third in scoring for the University of Rio Grande women’s basketball team Saturday in its 74-67 loss to Ohio Christian.
Wendel was 2-for-5 from the field and made all four of her free throws to finish with eight points. She also grabbed three rebounds for the Red Storm (17-11, 8-7 River States Conference).
Elijah Kahlig

Scored in double digits for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team in a pair of wins recently.
Kahlig had 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting, including a 4-of-8 effort from long range, to finish with 14 points in a 92-55 win Saturday over Lake Erie. He also had four assists, two rebounds and a steal in the win.
The junior added 10 points, three assists, one steal and one rebound as the Oilers (19-5, 13-4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) beat Ohio Dominican 82-79 on Feb. 9.

Helped the NAIA Division II No. 19University of St. Francis men’s basketball team to an 87-70 victory Wednesday over Grace.
Comer hit a pair of 3-pointers as part of his 12-point effort. He added three assists and a rebound for the Cougars (20-9).
The senior also had five points, fiverebounds and one assist Saturday in USF’s 94-83 loss to ninth-ranked Indiana Wesleyan.
Catherine Dunn
Jay County – 2015
Finished second in scoring for the Brescia University women’s basketball team Saturday in its 63-52 loss to Alice Lloyd.
Dunn was 3-of-12 from the field, and 8-for-12 from the free-throw line as she totaled 14 points. She also added four rebounds, three steals and an assist for the Bearcats (4-25, 2-14 River States Conference).

Ran for the IPFW women’s track team Friday and Saturday in the Chipotle Marshall Invitational hosted by the Marshall Thundering Herd.
Dunlavy was last out of 44 competitors in the 1-mile run, finishing with a time of 5:57.88. Deirdre Casey of William and Mary won in 5 minutes, 0.3 seconds.
