Cady Farlow has three school records for the Starfires.

Wednesday she etched her name into Boilermaker history.

Farlow, a 2015 South Adams High School graduate, helped the host Purdue University women’s swim team set a new school record in the 200 medley relay on the first day of the Big Ten Championships.

Farlow, who holds the 100-yard breaststroke and 100 freestyle records at South Adams as well as taking part in the record-setting 200 medley relay team, swam the breaststroke leg for Purdue’s 200 medley relay team that finished sixth.

The sophomore had a split time of 27.27 seconds, teaming with Jacklyn Smailis, Meagan Lim and Danielle Auckley to set a new Boilermaker record of 1 minute, 38.20 seconds. It was about two seconds faster than their seed time and 0.27 seconds faster than the Purdue squad that set the mark in 2015.

The quartet finished sixth, with Minnesota claiming the championship with a pool- and B1G-record 1:35.55.

Minnesota leads with 118 points through two events. Purdue is sixth with 92 points.
