Deer struck
A Portland woman struck a deer with the vehicle she was driving Thursday evening southwest of Portland.
Kimberly Hodge, 48, 322 E. Elder St., told Jay County Sheriff’s Office that she was driving a 2004 Dodge Charger southwest on Indiana 67, south of the intersection with county road 400 South, when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the Charger.
The Dodge is registered to Patty S. Enyart, 441 E. 7th St., Portland. Damage in the 6:05 p.m. accident was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
