Rear-end collision
A Portland man and a Redkey woman were injured in an accident Friday morning in Portland.
Katherine L. Sager, 21, 6293 W. 600 South, told Portland Police Department she was driving west on Votaw Street near its intersection with Charles Street and didn’t notice a vehicle stopped in front of her. She struck the stopped car, driven by Joseph G. Hall, 16, 1140 Wayside Place, Portland, with the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic she was driving.
Hall told police he was waiting for traffic to clear to turn south onto Charles Street. He was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, registered to Jeffrey A. Hall, same address.
Sager complained of shoulder and upper arm pain after thecollision, and Hall complained of head pain.
The Sonic is registered to Patricia Sager, same address asdriver .
Damage in the 9:58 a.m. accident is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
Failure to yield
A Union City woman was injured Friday afternoon after her car collided with another vehicle.
Ramona Imel, 54, 8950 S. 700 East, was turning east off of U.S. 27 near its intersection with county road 200 South when she failed to yield to a van traveling north on U.S. 27, according to a Jay County Sheriff’s Office report. Her 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis collided with the 2001 Chevrolet Express driven by Teddy Baldwin, 68, Redkey.
Imel was treated at the scene for a complaint of head pain.
Damage in the 3:35 p.m. collision is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
