Local notes

PJL registration is today

Portland Junior League will have a registration session from 9 a.m. to noon today at Jay Community Center.

PJL has baseball and softball leagues for children ages 5 to 15 years old.

Forms can be picked up at any school office or at JCC.



Register for Redkey

Redkey Junior League will have registration Saturday for its baseball and softball leagues this summer.

Registration will be from 9 a.m. to noon today at Redkey Park Cabin.

Register for Boomer

Registration is now ongoing for Boomer soccer at Jay Community Center.

Soccer is open to boys and girls ages 3 through 14. Games will be played on Saturdays from April 8 through May 13.

Cost is $50, and includes a soccer ball. Shin guards are mandatory.

Deadline to register is Sunday.

Sprint to Spring set

The first race in the Run Jay County 5K Circuit is the Sprint to Spring 5K on April 8.

Cost is $15 without a shirt, or $20 with a shirt on or before March 20. After this date, cost increases by $5.

Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Jay Community Center. The race, which starts at JCC and goes through Hudson Family Park, begins at 8:30 a.m.
